Early Spring Purchases

I just thought I would take a few minutes to show you what I picked up in London last weekend...a few pieces to easily update my wardrobe from winter to spring.  See even if the weather doesn't want to improve, at least my clothes can bring a bit of sunshine!

Topshop Blouse

I think this is the first ever item of yellow clothing I've bought, but I just couldn't resist.  Usually I avoid yellow as it doesn't look great with my skin, but this has a slight hint of chartreuse which helps to tone it down.  I tried on several blouses in Topshop but this was definitely my favourite - the dipped hem is hip flattering and the ruffles add a seventies vibe without too much flounce.  It's also not as hideously sheer as some of Topshop's other offerings - always a bonus!

Topshop Tunic

I'm a big fan of all of the rusty colours hitting the high street this season, and this tunic (or dress if you're feeling brave!) is my way of giving a nod to that.  The lace hem, gathered waist and slightly sheer sleeves all add up to create a flattering shape, and this can definitely be dressed up with 100 deniers and chunky heels or dressed down with leggings and sandals...when the weather starts to heat up!

H&M Sweater (yes I think it may just need an iron!)

This sweater isn't particularly spring like, but it was a must, especially considering how much it is 'inspired' by a Whistles knit that I couldn't justify splashing out on.  As well as Topshop, H&M have some lovely stuff in store this season - I'd especially recommend checking out the flagship Regent Street store if you're in the vicinity.  Lots of pastels, florals and sixties inspired separates and dresses - if only half of them fitted my pear shape figure!

Primark shoes
I also had to fit in a quick dash to the Marble Arch Primark to check out their latest shoe collection - and was so happy to see they had these in stock.  Especially the black patent loafers I had previously admired on the lovely milkteef's blog - the only pair left, and in my size as well.  And the brogues?  So comfy, and only 8 quid.  A bargain if I ever did see one!
