Pay Day Discounts!

It's payday. And it's a bank holiday.  Hoorah!

I think that definitely calls for some shopping, so here are some of the best online discounts I've found...any more - let me know :)

As stocked in Topshop, and as worn by various celebrities, there are some lovely dresses, blouses and playsuits to be had here.  And at the moment, if you enter the code SPRINGFLOWER you get £10 off your order.  Or that's what I thought! I put two dresses into my basket last night and ended up getting £10 off each and then another tenner off the total amount...and free delivery too - bargain!  Expires 31st May.

Two discounts for Warehouse that are definitely worth giving a go!

First off, the code 'style2011' gives you 20% off, which is good enough on its own, but there's more - if you live within certain areas you can get free same day delivery - but be quick, it's only for today! Just enter the code deliverytreat at the checkout.  Oh, and you can use both codes on the same order - good times :)

25% some of my favourite shoes this season - just enter code - VIPSALE - expires 29th May

Use the code - NLVCTWJ - to receive 20% off and free delivery - expires on Monday 30th May.

Hair Inspiration

I'm in a hair colour rut...and I think bold and bright is the only way to go.

I'm veering closer to the warm copper hues of Blake Lively and Nicola Roberts, but what do you think?  Shall I brave it?

Wish List Wednesday

This is dedicated to a love affair that has been reignited of recent days...yes I'm talking about me and Topshop.

I actually haven't bought anything in Toppers for weeks now - there's been nothing that's really grabbed me, or that has been a price I'm willing to pay.  £15 for a plain tee I can get for £8 in H&M? No thanks.  However the recent new arrivals have got me excited once again...and here are just a few I love -

Floral Jumpsuit, £60

Silk Boutique Dress, £60

Embellished 'Dress Up Topshop' Dress, £125 (*gulp*)

Silk Boutique Blouse, £58

Floral Swimsuit, £32.50
Neon Trim Pumps, £16

Fuschia Suede Clutch, £18

There you go...definitely got my Topshop mojo back! What are you lusting after this week ladies?

Selfridges Project Ocean - save our seas in style

Selfridges have recently launched a new initative to encourage us to start thinking about the possibility of a world with no more fish in the sea and become aware of the increasing issues of sustainability, overfishing and marine protection.

This may be a little different to the usual content on here, but this immediately caught my attention. As my parents live in Somerset (farming capital!) I am acutely aware of the importance of understanding where your food comes from and making sure you always consider the welfare of animals and their environment.  So why should it be any different for fish?

Selfridges have transformed their London store into an homage to the ocean for the next five weeks and will be holding talks, film screenings, NGO workshops and Guerilla Science for families, really getting the public involved in the many issues facing the oceans.  The store's Ultralounge will also be transformed into the Dive Bar and will host musical acts and performances every Friday night.

If like me you are a bit of an avid cook, they have also produced a 'Fish Guide' which details all of the fish you should eat and those you should avoid, as well as alternative dishes, to ensure that we do the best for the oceans...and have delicious meals too :)

And don't worry - being Selfridges they haven't forgotten about the fashion!  Katharine Hamnett, Queen of the slogan tee, has produced an exclusive collection of t-shirts, totes and even a beach towel to get us thinking....and doing!

Slogan tee, £40, Selfridges

Slogan tee, £40, Selfridges

If you want to find out more, visit the dedicated site on the Selfridges website here and learn how you can eat and act without causing any damage to our valuable oceans and their inhabitants.  And if you want to donate (almost £54,000 raised so far) please do so...the fish will thank you.

Wish List Wednesday

No clothes this week - just a few items I've had my eye on that would bring my current wardrobe a little more up to date!

ASOS Bow Brooches

Bow brooches, £6 each, ASOS

I love these brooches and think they are a great idea, and the perfect way to update my simple blouses and jersey tops without spending a fortune!  The white lace is my favourite and I'm already thinking of what I could wear it with - think it would look lovely with one of my short sleeved sheer mint green blouses, or even a simple grey vest.  And for 6 quid? You could buy all three for the less than some of the bow neck tops in Topshop at the moment.

Topshop Wedges

Winston wedges, £50, Topshop

I adore my black suede Office wedges and wear them on pretty much every night out, despite the fact that falling over is inevitable in most of the slippery floored establishments I frequent!  However I think they may get pushed aside for the summer if Topshop get their way...these espadrille wedges are a nice manageable height, relatively affordable (which makes a change for Toppers at the moment!) and very summery without being too twee.  Love 'em.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils

I had a play around with these in Space NK the other week and am now rather tempted to give them a go.  I especially love these three colours - Damned, a rich blood red (really summery right?), Roman Holiday, a bright candy pink and Bolero, a pastel peach.  Has anyone tried these? Worth going for?

So that's another Wednesday, another wish list done.  What's on yours?!

What Were You Thinking?

Sunglasses pouch, £14, Topshop

Topshop.  A sunglasses pouch?  That looks like this?  I don't know what to say.

Wish List Wednesday...and a catch up.

So you may have noticed this didn't happen last week...nor did anything else on this blog for that matter.  I took advantage of the 11 days off and the break flashed by without me even noticing, in fact I can't believe I'm back at work already!

I spent my time catching up with friends and family -  a few days at my parents' house in Somerset, birthday lunches and BBQs, a royal wedding tea party (no tea was consumed...only champagne), picnics in the park, lots of baking and a full day of solo shopping in London...what a treat :)

Here are a few snapshots of my week -

My parents' lovely house (including my idiot father)

So pretty!

Basil - the best dog ever

Lyme Regis - such a lovely day

Friday's tea party - tiaras and excessive cake consumption compulsory!

And now for the wishlist!
Oh My Love at ASOS

Top £35, Jacket £45, Dress £48, Oh My Love at ASOS
A sign of a good brand? When they make you want loads of clothes you have no need for...and this is what Oh My Love has done for me! How often would I wear a lace, tassled sleeve kimono jacket? Or the crop top?  But oh how I want it all!

French Connection Maxi

Shelbys Summer Dress, £155, French Connection
I ADORE this dress and just wish it wasn't priced so highly.  £155 for a polyester dress?  I don't think so.  Fashion gods, make this mine!

So that's it for now - short and sweet! There are a few other pieces that would be on here, except I bought them!  So will do a little post later on this week to show you :)

So what's on your wish list?  And what did you get up to over these bank holiday weekends? Let me know!
