A new jewellery love . . .

So yesterday a friend and I took a trip to the Clothes Show London and the UK Beauty Awards after I was given a pair of free tickets by handbag.com.

The overall experience was a little underwhelming - whilst there was a good selection of brands and some pretty good freebies (We especially loved the Pantene photobooth - fab!) we both agreed that if we'd paid for tickets we would not have been impressed.

Yet I don't want to be totally negative, especially as I discovered a great jewellery brand that I just have to share with you :)

I am constantly on the lookout for delicate and simple jewellery, particularly necklaces and rings. It is a constant struggle for me to find rings that fit my bony fingers so when I came across Junk Jewels, a vintage inspired brand full of charm jewellery, it was a real moment of glee. I was also really impressed by the customer service - I found a lovely gold charm ring, but alas it didn't fit my ring finger. However when I told the girl working the stand she was more than happy to find me a ring that fitted, transfer the ring over and find the matching necklace.

There is also the opportunity to design your own jewellery - select the chain length and add as many charms as you'd like - my friend did this and came up with the perfect necklace after having trawled the boxes of charms and having a bit of help from the lovely staff.

So...this is what I picked up!

Wing charm ring, £5

Wing charm necklace, £8

'Oui' charm necklace, £8

Overall I was really impressed with this brand, and will definitely be taking a visit to their website soon :)

Deja Vu (Part Two)

Anyone remember these delightful Miu Miu shoes posted by Alexa Chung on Twitter a few months ago?

If like me it was love at first sight, yet your purse did not agree, River Island have come to your rescue.

For £54.99 these satin and diamante platforms can be yours...the only question is - navy or pink? Or both? I shall be rushing down to my local store this pay weekend...see you there?

NOTD (and a little rave)

American Apparel Nail Lacquer in Palm Springs.

I picked this up in the American Apparel Outlet in Orlando - sadly not at a discount! I'm definitely impressed with the formula - very creamy and smooth application. I did two coats but could have got away with one. The only problem was the amount of varnish the brush picks up, there is definite overspill if you're not careful - hence my messier than usual application! I'll definitely be picking up some more of these next time I visit American Apparel, good quality, a nice big bottle and a great range of colours.

Whilst on the subject of nails, I also wanted to have a little rave about something I FINALLY picked up in the States.

Yes finally, Seche Vite. All I can say is wow! Love it. If like me you have a slight addiciton to nail varnish yet still end up painting your nails at 10pm and hoping you won't wake up with bed sheet smears, this is a must have. It leaves your nails dry in a matter of seconds and I love the super shiny finish. A definite must buy :)

A Mini Giveaway - now closed!

So...as promised - here is a little post holiday giveaway!

It's not much, but I picked up a few pieces I thought may appeal, especially as you can't get them in the UK - Covergirl Lash Blast mascara, a stick of strawberry Carmex (I can't live without it and I love it in this form) and some lovely Forever 21 earrings.

It's open to whoever would like to enter, though I know it may appeal a little more to UK girls :) Please note however, you must be a follower of my blog!

To enter - you know the drill! Simply comment below with 'enter me' - for an extra entry pop it on your blog or tweet about it and let me know!

Competition closes next Friday, 25th June. Good luck!

Home! (and a sneak peek of Harry Potter at Universal...)

So, reluctantly (and rather jetlagged), I am home from Florida!

We had a bit of a crazy busy week, full of rollercoasters, shopping, swimming, the sea and lots of sun - and I wish we were still there. But now that I'm home, I can get back into the swing of blogging - every cloud eh?!

So I have a little giveaway that is going up tonight - nothing huge but I picked up a few bits in the States especially for my followers, and I hope you like them! Most of my own shopping is rather boring, but I may do a quick post on the handful of clothes, make up and nail varnishes I picked up :)

Anyway...back onto the main point of this post! A few weeks ago, the lovely Victoria at Lily loves Lola gave us a peek at the new section of Universal Studios Islands of Adventure - The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - and I was lucky enough to go! It doesn't open officially until Friday, but we were given special early access thanks to Virgin Holidays :)

So we dragged ourselves out of bed to get to the park at 7am for breakfast in The Three Broomsticks and had a look around the park with some of the other special visitors. All I can say is wow - they have definitely done their homework and the details are spectacular! It is rather bizarre seeing snow topped buildings in the sunshine, and Hogwarts surrounded by palm trees, but you quickly get used to it as you guzzle butterbeer and experience Hogsmeade and Hogwarts for yourself.

So I shall leave you with a few photos to whet your appetite...and look out for my giveaway later on :)

What were you thinking?

Kitten heel gladiators? Oh ASOS...

Holiday Shopping?

So...in less than a week I'm heading off to the sunshine state for my first family holiday in about a decade. To say I'm excited would be a slight understatement!

So as well as soaking up a bit of sun, jumping on a few rollercoasters and eating enough to sink a ship, we're also planning on doing a fair bit of shopping.

And this is where you ladies come in! Now the US shops aren't particularly alien to me, in fact I lived out there (in Arizona) for a year whilst at uni. However that was a few (read five) years ago and I have to admit I've become a little out of touch.

So ladies, if you've been recently - what have you HAD to get? Any great shops to recommend? Any real gems I would regret not picking up? And most importantly - anything been so overhyped it's worth passing on?

Or if you were in my shoes, what would be top of your shopping list?

Over to you :)

p.s. as I'm rather close to 100 followers, there will most likely be a giveaway on my return - well, I wouldn't want to be selfish, would I?

Cut Price Chanel?

Anyone remember these?

Yep, the £50 Chanel temporary tattoos that got the beauty world in a frenzy just a few months ago. Now I wasn't (and still am not quite) convinced by these, but I know plenty of people for whom it was love at first sight and seemingly Topshop agreed!

Yes, trusty Topshop have come up with a selection of temporary tattoos, just a little 'inspired' by Chanel's offerings. And for £6.50. So if you didn't drum up the courage to fork over £50, perhaps these will be a little easier to try out. But for me? Well, I'm still a little apprehensive, but maybe we'll see how it goes...

Available instore and online - double C's not included.
