Review - Lush Big Shampoo

After reading several reviews about Lush Big I was intrigued...so when I walked past Lush I HAD to see what all the fuss was about!

As there's already been so many reviews of this I'll try not to be too repetitive, and just let you know how well it works on my hair - which is mid-length, pretty thick and naturally curly.

Because of my hair type I was a little apprehensive about trying this as I can rarely get away with a non-moisturising shampoo, but I decided to dive in and give it a go - the length my hair is at the moment means it rarely gets as much volume as I'd like, and backcombing is not good!!!

The application is pretty basic, simply take a small amount and rub into your hair as you would a normal shampoo. I was pretty impressed by how much this lathered - even with the hard water down here. I followed with a little conditioner and set about blow drying...the moment of truth!

All I can say is wow! My hair is very very thirsty and holds onto water like anything, which makes blowdrying a pretty arduous task. However, this time it took half as long as usual - drying super fast and straightening really easily. As I wanted to give it a proper review, I didn't put any products in my hair after washing...yet it still ended up super soft and shiny - perfect.

As I only wash my hair a couple of times a week I'll probably use it every time, but if you wash it more often I would probably use it every other time - it is pretty clarifying and if your hair is coloured, I think it may strip it quite quickly.

Big Shampoo retails for £9.90 and it's a bit thumbs up from me :)

Review - Lush Mint Julips

Whilst popping into Lush to pick up a Big shampoo (review coming up!) I was drawn to the new sugar lip scrubs.

This time of year, what with cold weather, wind and central heating, my lips tend to take a battering and I'm constantly slathering on carmex by the tube, so I thought I'd see if I could find something that would keep them nice and soft.

The scrub I chose was Mint Julips, which is peppermint and chocolate, but if that doesn't float your boat there is also Bubblegum and Sweet Lips (vanilla and chocolate). The concept is pretty simple - apply a little with your finger, rub your lips together and lick it off! As it's all natural, it's fine to eat...and it tastes rather lovely.

I was really impressed with this - my lips feel lovely and smooth, and although I've only been using it for a day or so I really feel as though this scrub has improved their condition. It's a little messy, and is probably best to apply it in the privacy of your own home - simply to avoid walking around looking like you've just shoved a donut in your mouth :)

The scrub retails for £4.50 and I'd definitely recommend it :)

A Mini Haul...

I popped to the shops after work today to pick up some vital cupcake ingredients and decided to have a mooch around Boots and Accessorize...y'know, it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?

I managed to get a few good bargains in both - Accessorize still had a big chunk of sale goodies at 70% off and Boots have discounted a good few Urban Decay products - so get down their sharpish!! :)

Anyway, this is what I picked up...

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Lucky - such a gorgeous rich bronze, and only £4.50 - I'd definitely recommend picking this up if you spot it...pretty pretty colour.

This Urban Decay brow set, in ginger snap, was half price - perfect for my obsession with brow products :)

A bit of a bad swatch, but hopefully this shows the colour :)

Who could resist these pretty little things?

I love this flower clip - I've been growing my hair for the past year and have been trying not to use heat 'too' much...so this is perfect for the days I want to stick it up in a messy bun and forget about it. Oh, and it was 70% off too :)

These were also 70% off...love them.

I also picked up some Ardell lashes, my absolute favourites - Demi 101. I'd totally recommend them - they're really thick and full, yet the length is still fairly natural - for falsies at least :)

Thank you!

I just wanted to take a second to say a big thank you to everyone that has taken the time to read my little blog...it means a lot to me that people do want to hear my ramblings!

I have a few future posts in mind, but if there's anything you want to see, please let me know :)

p.s. I am also thinking of doing a giveaway when I get a few more followers...so keep an eye out :)
