Wish List Wednesday

No clothes this week - just a few items I've had my eye on that would bring my current wardrobe a little more up to date!

ASOS Bow Brooches

Bow brooches, £6 each, ASOS

I love these brooches and think they are a great idea, and the perfect way to update my simple blouses and jersey tops without spending a fortune!  The white lace is my favourite and I'm already thinking of what I could wear it with - think it would look lovely with one of my short sleeved sheer mint green blouses, or even a simple grey vest.  And for 6 quid? You could buy all three for the less than some of the bow neck tops in Topshop at the moment.

Topshop Wedges

Winston wedges, £50, Topshop

I adore my black suede Office wedges and wear them on pretty much every night out, despite the fact that falling over is inevitable in most of the slippery floored establishments I frequent!  However I think they may get pushed aside for the summer if Topshop get their way...these espadrille wedges are a nice manageable height, relatively affordable (which makes a change for Toppers at the moment!) and very summery without being too twee.  Love 'em.

Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils

I had a play around with these in Space NK the other week and am now rather tempted to give them a go.  I especially love these three colours - Damned, a rich blood red (really summery right?), Roman Holiday, a bright candy pink and Bolero, a pastel peach.  Has anyone tried these? Worth going for?

So that's another Wednesday, another wish list done.  What's on yours?!

Wish List . . .er. . . Thursday

So this is a day late - oops.  But hey, better late than never right?  So here we go...just two mentions, but they are good'uns!

Dress Up Topshop

L-R £70, £80, £125, £85, £150 (All Topshop) - click to enlarge

Topshop have produced an exclusive collection of dresses which appeared on the website today.  A fair bit pricier than their usual dresses but they are perfect for any special occasions coming up.  I particularly love the nude chiffon and the black bandeau dresses with embellishment.  Though the sequinned bow waist number is rather special too!  Sod it, I want them all.  Now if only I had a few hundred quid spare....

ASOS Platforms

Heist Platforms, £70, ASOS
I LOVE these shoes - and it's not hard to see why.  Leopard print, platforms, bows - they are me all over.

Deja Vu

Who'd a thunk it? Jessica Simpson producing a cult shoe?  If you've given up hope of getting hold of a pair of her 'Dany' platforms do not fear! The British high street comes to your rescue once again!

Clockwise from Left - Jessica Simpson 'Dany', ASOS £70, Kurt Geiger, £120
These ASOS Bitten platforms aren't online yet, but after being featured in the latest magazine they will hopefully up on the site very very soon...and the Kurt Geiger offerings are a great summer version of the shoe, with the tobacco suede and cork platform heel.

What are your thoughts on these shoes - a must have? Or a must avoid?

I must say, I do rather like them...but whether my ankles would? well, that's another question.

Wish List Wednesday

Moccasins

Clockwise from Left - Zara, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Minnetonka
Are these the perfect "spring/summer/too cold for sandals yet" shoe?  I think they may well be!

Yellow
Topshop tunic, Topshop dress, ASOS clutch, Kurt Geiger heels
In case you hadn't noticed from the satchel in last week's wish list, and the blouse I bought a few weeks ago, I am a little enamoured with yellow right now.  I had previously shied away from this colour as it did nothing for my yellow toned complexion and red hair, but the shades on offer at the moment are much much more flattering.  I picked up the mustard Topshop tunic last week and am now looking to brighten up my wardrobe little more...

Have you recently started to embrace colours you'd never been brave enough to wear before?  Or like me, have you found a colour that you once couldn't make work, actually suits you as long as you pick wisely?  Let me know :)

Lush Easter Range

Love the look of all of these products...so cute!  And as for the bunny wrap...adorable :)

Oh, and before I sign off for today, have you entered my Hummingbird Bakery give away yet?  Click here to win a copy of their new book!

Wish List Wednesday

Nautical

L-R Topshop dress, Topshop skirt, ASOS earrings, River Island tee, Gipsy (at ASOS) tights

Nauticals? For Spring? Groundbreaking.  Sorry - couldn't resist.  The original line may have attacked the predictability of florals but nautical designs are just as significant come spring.  Does this make me want them any less? Of course not!

It may still (just) be February but I'm already pulling on my breton tees and hoping that soon they won't be covered up by my big fat winter coat.  I'm also lusting after some of the latest nautical inspired offerings out on the high street - I particularly love Topshop's striped pencil skirt and boat print dress and the adorable anchor print tights by Gipsy at ASOS.

Viva Glam Gaga 2

I'm not normally a big nude lipstick kinda girl (pale blue tone pinks and brights have become my trademark) but I LOVE this colour! For some strange reason I held off getting the original Viva Glam Gaga until a couple of months ago but I will not be doing the same this time around.

The colour is a soft nude with a enough of a hint of peach to prevent me looking corpse like...I'm hoping it will do for me what Creme D'Nude (which remains unworn in my make up bag) does for others.  And not only that, every penny of the proceeds goes towards fighting AIDS.  Anyone know the release date for the UK?

Loafers

After previously dismissing loafers on the simple fact that I have big feet, I now have a real craving to grab a pair or two.  I've recently bought some mannish peg leg trousers and I think that loafers are the perfect accompaniment - as long as they are simple...and don't make my feet look like a man's! I think the Office version above are the current winners, but at £58 I'm definitely looking for a cheaper alternative - so let me know if you've seen any!

French Connection

Jumpsuit (£97) Maxi (£87) Dress (£115) Trousers (£75) *gulp*
I really can't justify purchasing any of these lovely pieces (seriously FC, chill out on the prices) but I want them all - wah!

So that is my wishlist for another week...tell me...what's on yours?

New Shoes!

Is there anything better?

Despite my longstanding love of shoes, I haven't come across any I 'had' to have so far this year...until recently - and I've bought two pairs in as many weeks, well, it would be rude not to treat my feet eh?

The first pair I picked up after the Clothes Show last week.  After my disappointment of the offerings at Earls Court I took a trip to Oxford Circus to try on a pair of shoes I'd had my eyes on for a while.

They are the Nate sandals.  Now these may not be to everyone's taste but to me they are the perfect summer shoe - comfortable, versatile and with just the right amount of 'edge'.  Yes, they are not pretty, but that's what I like...and they help harden up the soft chiffon tunics and floaty dresses I've been living in recently.  I also think they'd go perfectly with black tights in the autumn.  What do you think?  Too ugly, or just ugly enough? :)

The second pair of shoes may be familiar to a few of you as I tweeted my love of them this week.  It was a definite case of lust at first sight and when I spotted them in Topshop this weekend I had to try them on - and when a good few other customers stopped, stared and told me to buy them, who am I to say no?

They are the Swallow wedges - super high, chunky and really comfortable...so far!  Again, these will look fab with black opaques and little dresses to play up on the sixties style.  A quick word of warning though, I am usually a 7 but when I tried them on they fell off my feet...so definitely worth trying a size smaller.

So...anyone else had the 'new shoe' urge recently?

What were you thinking?

Kitten heel gladiators? Oh ASOS...

Clogs - yay...or nay?

£45, Miss Selfridge

£130, Carvela at Kurt Geiger

£65, Topshop

£60, Office

£40, New Look

£85, ASOS

£160,Kurt Geiger

So...what do you think? Are these new season 'it' shoes worth splashing out on, or would they be impossible to walk in for all but the most hardened of heel wearers? Personally I don't know if my spindly ankles would be up for the task...but I'm always up for having my mind changed :)
