A new jewellery love . . .

So yesterday a friend and I took a trip to the Clothes Show London and the UK Beauty Awards after I was given a pair of free tickets by handbag.com.

The overall experience was a little underwhelming - whilst there was a good selection of brands and some pretty good freebies (We especially loved the Pantene photobooth - fab!) we both agreed that if we'd paid for tickets we would not have been impressed.

Yet I don't want to be totally negative, especially as I discovered a great jewellery brand that I just have to share with you :)

I am constantly on the lookout for delicate and simple jewellery, particularly necklaces and rings. It is a constant struggle for me to find rings that fit my bony fingers so when I came across Junk Jewels, a vintage inspired brand full of charm jewellery, it was a real moment of glee. I was also really impressed by the customer service - I found a lovely gold charm ring, but alas it didn't fit my ring finger. However when I told the girl working the stand she was more than happy to find me a ring that fitted, transfer the ring over and find the matching necklace.

There is also the opportunity to design your own jewellery - select the chain length and add as many charms as you'd like - my friend did this and came up with the perfect necklace after having trawled the boxes of charms and having a bit of help from the lovely staff.

So...this is what I picked up!

Wing charm ring, £5

Wing charm necklace, £8

'Oui' charm necklace, £8

Overall I was really impressed with this brand, and will definitely be taking a visit to their website soon :)

A Mini Haul...

I popped to the shops after work today to pick up some vital cupcake ingredients and decided to have a mooch around Boots and Accessorize...y'know, it would be rude not to, wouldn't it?

I managed to get a few good bargains in both - Accessorize still had a big chunk of sale goodies at 70% off and Boots have discounted a good few Urban Decay products - so get down their sharpish!! :)

Anyway, this is what I picked up...

Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Lucky - such a gorgeous rich bronze, and only £4.50 - I'd definitely recommend picking this up if you spot it...pretty pretty colour.

This Urban Decay brow set, in ginger snap, was half price - perfect for my obsession with brow products :)

A bit of a bad swatch, but hopefully this shows the colour :)

Who could resist these pretty little things?

I love this flower clip - I've been growing my hair for the past year and have been trying not to use heat 'too' much...so this is perfect for the days I want to stick it up in a messy bun and forget about it. Oh, and it was 70% off too :)

These were also 70% off...love them.

I also picked up some Ardell lashes, my absolute favourites - Demi 101. I'd totally recommend them - they're really thick and full, yet the length is still fairly natural - for falsies at least :)

Recent acquisitions and raves

Just thought I'd do a quick post of some of my lovely Christmas presents and some of my recent sales bargains...including a mini mac haul - you've got to love gift vouchers eh?

First up...the make up.

Mac Brow Set in Beguile

I've been desperate for a great eyebrow product, as I have super blonde eyebrows which seem to disappear every time a camera flashes in my face, so leaving them 'au naturale' isn't really an option. I had been using a prestige brow pencil but I was after something with a bit more staying power so I decided to try out Mac's brow set...and all I can say is I LOVE it. You do get a lot of product on the brush, so it's worth giving it a quick swipe before attacking the brows, but it is just what I needed.

Mac E/S in Hypnotizing

Part of the Love Lace collection, this is a gorgeous colour - I'd probably describe it as a taupy, purple-grey...lovely.

Mac E/S in Twinks

After picking up Hypnotizing I decided on Twinks as they compliment each other perfectly. I also love veluxe pearl finishes and this nice rich shade will fit right into my oh-so-adventurous collection of browns, bronzes and golds.

And also...

This is my sales bargain - half price in the sales, you've got to love Boots! Note Nicola's lashes are missing as I wore them Saturday night, though to be honest, not sure if I'm a fan...don't know if it's just me, but they seem huge?

Onto the rest of my goodies :)

With all this lovely weather we've been having, I've been looking around for a good pair of sturdy (and non-slip!) ankle boots and these Kurt Geiger ones fit the bill perfectly. I love the slightly faded leather and the studded straps...and at less than half price they were a bargain too.

I was also given these gorgeous earrings for Christmas - I've been after a pair of Westwood earrings for years, and this year I was lucky enough to be given a pair - I love the flower detail and the little bit of bling they bring to my everyday winter outfits :)
